Side effects if Implanon contraceptive? I had the contraceptive Implanon inserted in my arm 3 months ago and seem to be having some wierd side-effects... I've put on about 8kg even though I'm on a strict non-fat diet (for medical reasons) my skin is breaking out badly and I'm spotting for about 3 weeks of every month. What side-effects are other women experiencing or heard about?
implanon implant?-side effects? Hi, I'm supposed to get implanon (which is a form of birth control) put in my arm on tuesday. it is around 99.99 percent effective and i thought it would be a good option since i have a really busy lifestyle and i'd probably have problems taking the pill around the same time everyday. i'm 18 years old, and i'm in college. one of the side effects of imlanon is acne and weight gain, i've never had acne and i really don't want to gain weight. if i just exercise regulary and eat healthy foods and take care of myself should that be enough? and has anyone experienced any of these symptoms? would you recommend implanon.. i'm a little nervous because i've seen some people with bad experiences on here, i might see if i can switch to another method.
The side effects of Implanon? Any topics on Implanon have not said much good of Implanon so far. I am considering getting this. But I need to know about the side effects. I know its progestrin based like the Depo shot and I have tried that before with the only side effect being a crazy amount of weight gain, so that is my main concern, second being sex drive, not a problem at all with the Depo. Will Implanon affect me the same way or close to the Depo shot, its the only way I can compare what it will do?

For woman who have implanon, help me out with the side effects? im supposed to get implanon tomorrow but im worried about the side effects. it says in the leaflet that the most common side effects are acne, headache, increase in body weight, breasts tenderness and pain, infection in the vagina and period may stop. Implanon removal - side effects? I recentlyhad my 2nd implanon implant removed after 9 months - i have been violently sick one day and then had really bad nausea and diorreah, bloatedness, headaches, stomach and back cramos quite simliar to period pains since then. Its been 2 1/2 weeks now has anyone else had this experience?
what is the best natural birth control? im sick of side effects, im on implanon? my boyfriend isnt keen on condoms, i was on the pill but that made me moody not very helpful so far, we are both sti free so thats not an issue, i dont like condoms either.. im just looking for some helpful answers here! of course i know 'sustaining' is the obvious answer but we've been together two years!

Does Implanon have long term side effects? I cant beleive that leaving something unatural in your body for a long time will not have an adverse effect on the body, so seeing as though i dont have sex anymore :( im thinking i might as well take it out if its going to do something bad to me. However if it doesnt i might leave it in because i think having my periods again would really suck... thanks :)
implanon conteceptive implant side effects?? Hi, i have had the implant in since 03/03/08 to start with i had 2 normal periods for the first two months. then i had a funny brown discharge in replacement for my period. all of a sudden i have had severe wind my stomach feels incrediably bloated and i have increased waist size of about 2 inches! nowhere else just my waist. My breasts are sensitive and painful! When i missed my period the first time i took a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side and it was negative (when i was getting the brown discharge instead of period that is) so i can assume i can rule out pregnancy?!? what could this be? is this common side effects? I can't really describe the bloating wind thing i have tried some over the counter medicines for this such as rennie deflatine and this has had no effect on it what so ever!!! Please help!!

Implanon side effects? Ive had the implanon now for a little over 2 years without any problems. However, for the last two months I have been getting a bit of cystic acne on my face and back, not vey many but big pimples which make me want to hibernate. Plus I have been losing handfuls of hair when I wash it. Luckily I have long thick hair so it isnt noticeable. Plus Ive started to get these mood swings where one day I feel like life is crap, the next day it is all good. I have considered it is to do with the implanon but Ive had it with no dramas for 2 years, I've been taking zinc tablets for two weeks but nothings changed. What could it be?

i'm scared of side effects? Hi, I'm a college girl who's always on the go. I'm in pretty good health, or great health to be honest. I've decided to be responsible and go on Birth Control. I'm going to be using implanon (sort of similar to Norplant) and I really am starting to become afraid after looking up some side effects. (weight gain, acne and weird periods). I've always been sort of regular and never had acne. I'm going to start running around campus and just being here and starting school has caused me to lose about 5 pounds. Has anyone experienced effects with the pill as well, and other birth control options.
Implanon help?? I got my first implanon inserted about 5 weeks ago. The only bad side effects i've had is acne and a longer period that was really light and lots of cramps. I've lost weight too about 5kg and completelly lost all intrest in my favorite food. I'm on another medication 'zyban' aswell. Do you think that my suppressed appietite is caused by the mix of the implanon hormones and the zyban? Or can the implanon itself make you put on weight (i thought it was suppose to make you put on weight) and do you think theres any chance my skin will calm down soon? whoops I meant can the implanon itself make you lose weight cause I thought it was suppose to make you put on weight.

forget to take contraceptive pill and when i do it gets stuck! and implanon q's? Hey i have been on the contraceptive pill levlen for 2 years. lately in the last 5 months or so i have been forgetting to take it and when i do get around to take it i sometimes have about 2 or 3 pills. it doesn't stuff up my cycle though i do still get my period when i reach the sugar pill however since my last period i havent started taking the active pills which was about a week and a half ago... am i ok to start up again today? or should i wait until my next period. Also when i do swallow the pill i feel it stuck in my throat. i usually have to eat sumnthing to push it down which is annoying and i have only had this problem for about a year. also would anybody recomend implanon? i have read it has bad side effects which is why i havent looked further into it but now that i am being so slack at taking my pill i am thinking more about it! do you get your period when you are on implanon? does it cause you to gain weight? does it hurt when they put it in?
Contraception: How does implanon affect your period? Pregnancy and Implanon??? I have been using Implanon for 5 and a half years, and it has been very successful in preventing me from getting pregnant. The irregular bleeding has always been a hassle - my first year i didnt bleed at all, my second year it came on the 13th of every month like clock work, on the third year it would just please itself when it would come and go, and when I had my old implant removed and my new one inserted, this cycle started again....no bleeding for the first year, clockwork for a while, and then it would turn up and stay for sometimes almost a month.. Im worried. My "period" should have been here about 2 months ago, and while i dont think i "feel" pregnant....it's concerning me. Could I be pregnant? Can the Implant "wear off"? Whats the failure rate of Implanon? Or is this just "irregular bleeding patterns"... If anyone has some good links or info regarding the failure rate and side effects of pregnancy whilst using implanon...or even just some advice... i would appreciate it

implanon - causes weight gain? Hiya, I have had the implanon in my arm now for 8 months. In those 8 months I have had terrible mood swings, headaches and I have put on a stone and a half despite eating well and exercising. I am FINALLY getting the damn thing out of my arm next tuesday.. has anyone else gained weight on the implanon and if so, when do the side effects stop once the implanon has been taken out? IMPLANON birth control help? I have implanon right now and iv been on it for about 6 months now... i have been having a few really weird things happen to me like constipation, gas, weight gain, and feeling bloated all the time.. is that normal? if you have implanon please list the side effects that you have so i know im not the only one!! thank you!
Can you be fitted with an IUD if you've never had a baby? My fiance and I are pretty much on the same page that we don't want kids for a while after we're married. I want something that's pretty much set it and forget it, but I hate shots and the potential side effects of implanon have scared me off. I'd ask my gyno, but I don't have one yet. I'm looking into ways to make my hair grow faster and a lot of people have reccommened Prenatal Vitamins?? The only problem with taking Prenatal Vitamins is that I have an Implanon Chip. So I'm not sure if taking prenatal vitamins will reduce the effectiveness of my Implanon or will cause side effects. Has anyone else gained weight on Implanon? Im really frustrated right now, Since having my implanon put in early february i have went from 130lbs to 180lbs, no matter what i do i just keep gaining. I went to my doctor and he told me there is no way that the weight gain could be from the implanon...if that was the case then why is it listed as a possible side effect. I need to switch birth controls after 6 years of Depo, has anyone had good experiences with Implanon? Hello! I've been on Depo for 6 years but my gyno has suggested switching due to the fact that Depo can cause bone loss over a period of time. I've been reading about implanon and was curious as to whether anyone else has gone from Depo to Implanon and how they reacted to it? I love my Depo and and one of the few who didn't have negative side effects from it. I have tried the Pill and it makes me very emotional and depressed. I don't really want to do that again!
